Country Road: cherishing every moment

Dear Colton,

Time does go by so fast. I can't believe we are already at the end of April, which means that you are almost three months old. Your Daddy and I have been so happy to have you home for two whole months now. We officially feel like a little family.

Mommy forgot to include this in an earlier blog post, but here is your
two month old picture from April 3!

During the first month and a half that you were home we decided not to take you out of the house too much because this flu season was pretty bad. But about mid-April is was time to venture out into this great big world.

You and I started to take long walks with Youk and then even went to Target and to the grocery store. Mommy sat your car seat in the grocery basket and piled food up all around you. You slept through the entire trip. {thank you!}

Now that we finally got your reflux under control with a good dose of Prevacid you enjoy eating much better. Your sleep routine throughout the month of April has been consistent. Eating every three hours. Because you've been eating and sleeping so well, Mommy and Daddy couldn't wait until your 3 month doctors appointment to see how much you weigh so we bought a scale. And would you believe it, you weigh 10 pounds 2 1/2 ounces!! Before we weighed you, Mommy and Daddy bet each other that you were somewhere around 9 pounds…we both lost that bet!

This month you also got a chance to meet your cousins Caroline, Payton, Colin and Chase!!! Pretty soon you will be running around with them having fun. And we got a first glance at your beautiful smile. We have heard some 'coos' here and there and if we're patient a smile will appear at least once a day. You've rolled over from your tummy to your back a couple times, but Dr. Parrish said that they may be 'fake rollovers.' Mommy thinks they are real though!
